About the role

The Transaction Tax Advisory Senior Manager position at Weaver is a high-profile role within the firm. This role is transaction-focused and requires a strong work ethic, ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments, and a self-starter attitude. The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree in Accounting or related field, a CPA or CPA candidate, and 5+ years of federal and/or state tax experience, preferably with a focus on private equity or private equity-backed clients. The candidate should also have experience in M&A and private equity transactions, excellent written and communication skills, proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff, strong relationship management and practice development skills, and the ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical tax knowledge in an easy-to-understand manner to assist clients in a variety of M&A transactions.
  • Manage tax due diligence engagements, leading the M&A tax staff and coordinating with other Weaver teams.
  • Evaluate transactions and complete other transaction-related engagements.
  • Lead the research and creative processes around evaluating various alternatives.
  • Assist and mentor all staff levels and play a key role in the continued growth of Weaver’s Transaction Advisory practice.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field and/or LLM in taxation
  • CPA or CPA candidate or Bar Admission
  • 5+ years of federal and/or state tax experience, ideally with a focus on private equity or private equity-backed clients

  • Experience in M&A and private equity transactions
  • Experience researching and writing technical tax issues
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff
