About the role

The Transaction Tax Advisory Senior Manager position at Weaver is a high-profile role within the firm, offering competitive compensation and career advancement opportunities. This role is ideal for an experienced Manager or Senior Manager with a focus on private equity or private equity-backed clients, who can manage tax due diligence engagements and lead the research and creative processes around evaluating various transactional alternatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tax due diligence engagements, leading the M&A tax staff and coordinating with other Weaver teams to complete diligence reports, evaluate transactions, and perform other transaction-related engagements.
  • Evaluate potential tax exposures and key tax considerations throughout the transaction process, including significant involvement in evaluating structuring alternatives.
  • Assist clients in understanding and addressing tax implications during M&A transactions.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of Weaver’s Transaction Advisory practice by managing, mentoring, and developing staff.
  • Support and mentor all staff levels, playing a key role in the firm’s ongoing success.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field and/or LLM in taxation
  • CPA or CPA candidate or Bar Admission
  • 5+ years of federal and/or state tax experience, ideally with a focus on private equity or private equity-backed clients

  • Experience in M&A and private equity transactions
  • Experience researching and writing technical tax issues

  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff
