About the Team

This position supports the rapidly growing Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) group, which conducts tax due diligence and tax transaction structuring/modeling engagements for clients across a wide range of industries. You will collaborate with the TAS Tax practice leader to manage private equity and strategic buyer/seller engagements, including tax due diligence, transaction structuring, research, and post-transaction planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence engagements for private equity and strategic corporate buyers
• Identify potential state income and non-income tax exposures in tax due diligence engagements
• Analyze proposed acquisition, sale, and restructuring transactions
• Perform quantitative analyses to model and assess tax consequences of specific transactions
• Identify value-adding post-transaction planning opportunities and projects
• Manage and mentor other TAS Tax staff members

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 4+ years of tax experience in tax preparation and/or review, or prior TAS Tax experience
• CPA, MST, JD, or LLM (a plus)
• Strong technical knowledge of C corporation, Subchapter S Corporation, and partnership taxation issues
• Experience with non-income taxes, including sales, employment, property, and escheat/unclaimed property taxes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a team-oriented environment
• Action-oriented, decisive approach to work with a willingness to take a hands-on role

Pay

In Illinois, the salary range for an Advisory Manager is $110,000 to $180,000. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, in accordance with applicable employment laws.
