About the role

The Training Supervisor at Foster Farms is responsible for overseeing and managing the training of new and existing employees. They work closely with department managers to develop effective training programs and ensure that all training is up-to-date and relevant to current job requirements. This leader provides strategic direction and drives excellence in safety, production, quality control, and regulatory compliance, supporting Foster Farms' mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the onboarding of new employees by establishing and maintaining training retention programs.
  • Work with Training Ambassadors to ensure proper on-the-job training is conducted and follow-through ramp-up programs.
  • Ensure new hires are successful in their jobs by providing guidance on regulatory guidelines such as Food Safety, Quality, and GMPs.
  • Conduct weekly follow-up meetings with new hires to prompt questions, create a positive atmosphere, and review onboarding systems.
  • Collaborate with front-line supervisors to complete and review weekly evaluations to ensure feedback is constructive and timely regarding performance, conduct, attendance, and safety.
  • Provide continuous feedback to front-line supervisors on open requisitions and retention levels.
  • Collaborate with department managers to create training plans tailored to specific job requirements.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, including logistics and materials.
  • Maintain and monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Manage and maintain training records and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in training and development.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience (preferably in a manufacturing industry).
  • At least three years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal communication skills with a positive attitude; ability to read and write in English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to evaluate employees fairly and objectively.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Passable criminal background check, E-Verify, and drug screen.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrated alignment with Foster Farms' ACTION principles.
