Pay: $120,000
Pay rates listed reflect the full rate for this position, including both the base pay and health and welfare benefits in accordance with applicable requirements. Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Duties and Requirements
Supervise training personnel and coordinate daily training operations, instructional activities, certification tracking, and staff development programs throughout the detention facility.
Monitor employee training requirements, qualification deadlines, certification records, and compliance standards to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate and oversee training programs related to detention operations, emergency response, security procedures, healthcare compliance, PREA standards, workplace safety, and facility operational policies.
Review training materials, lesson plans, attendance records, qualification documentation, and operational reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with facility requirements.
Conduct and supervise classroom instruction, practical exercises, operational briefings, emergency drills, and hands-on training activities for facility personnel.
Evaluate employee training performance, identify skill deficiencies, and coordinate corrective instruction, refresher training, or additional development opportunities as necessary.
Coordinate firearms qualifications, defensive tactics instruction, emergency preparedness exercises, evacuation drills, and operational readiness training activities.
Maintain accurate records related to employee certifications, training completion, instructor qualifications, compliance tracking, and operational readiness documentation.
Coordinate with department supervisors, healthcare personnel, security leadership, outside instructors, contractors, and government representatives regarding training requirements and operational needs.
Support audits, inspections, compliance reviews, accreditation assessments, and operational evaluations related to facility training operations and employee readiness programs.
Ensure all training activities comply with government detention standards, OSHA requirements, healthcare regulations, company policies, and applicable legal or contractual requirements.
Maintain professionalism, leadership, strong communication, and organizational skills while supporting safe and compliant detention facility operations through effective staff training and supervision.
Qualifications
Must possess a recognized professional instructor certification or instructional credential valid for delivering training to adult learners in a detention, security or law enforcement environment.
Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of formal classroom or platform instruction experience, including a proven track record of delivering training curricula, lesson plans, and practical evaluations to adult learners.
Must possess at least five (5) years of direct operational experience in a detention or correctional facility, with a strong preference for candidates whose background includes working under federal oversight agencies or within government-contracted detention environments.
Must possess prior experience managing, supervising, or providing operational oversight for training programs, including the tracking of compliance metrics, management of training records, and evaluation of instructional staff.
Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
Must consent to fingerprinting.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach.
Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies.
Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
