Training Lead – Top Secret/SCI | Virginia Beach, VA
About the role
Cambridge International Systems, Inc. is seeking a Training Lead to support operations in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a full-time, CONUS position requiring an active DoD Top Secret/SCI. The base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on geographic location and experience.
Responsibilities
As a Training Lead, you will play a critical role in serving U.S. government missions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the activities related to various training and educational programs for an organization
- Studying and identifying individual or group training needs, and administering plans, procedures, and programs to meet training needs
- Developing a variety of training aids and materials
- Keeping informed of new training methods
- Determining the appropriateness of contracting with outside vendors to accomplish the organization's training goals and objectives
- Analyzing training program effectiveness and submitting reports and recommendations to management
- Preparing and approving budgets and travel plans
- Recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluating employee performance, and recommending or initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action
- Monitoring surveillance systems, alarms, and video equipment in the global security operations center (GSOC)
- Designing and delivering programs to train all levels of personnel
- Developing tests and visual aids, conducting training classes, and developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities
- Coordinating with and assisting the client's site leads in the day-to-day execution of their Training and Qualification program
- Aiding in the preparation of required site assessment documentation
- Participating as a member of an assessment team to fully and accurately evaluate client system requirements
- Utilizing various information system inspection tools to audit systems, analyze potential vulnerabilities, and identify mitigation approaches
- Reviewing program and site documentation and providing recommendations to client leadership
- Developing, implementing, and managing positional qualification standards for the client's 24x7 watch standers and system engineers
- Creating and submitting deliverables accurately and on time
- Conducting routine project status meetings with Government Project Managers and Cambridge's project team
- Working with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are satisfactory, clear, and concise, prior to submitting to the Government
- Facilitating or participating in the creation of document deliverables, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Analyses of Alternatives, Project Status Reports, Project and System Design Reviews, etc.
- Working closely with Navy and Cambridge Management to continually improve enterprise processes and promote compliance with industry best practices such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Ensuring project deadlines are kept and ensuring tasks remain within project scope
- Reporting on Project Performance to Government and Contractor Program Managers
- Managing Stakeholders' Expectations through routine communication and status meetings
Requirements
The following are required for this position:
- Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position
- BS degree and 5 years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Ability to establish confidence and credibility with managers and senior level Navy leaders and the ability to foster open communications within teams
- Ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and Visio

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on geographic location and experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time position, with up to 30% travel required. Overnight stays are likely, and periods of prolonged sitting and/or standing, including desk-based computer work, may be required.
