Training & Education Coordinator

About the Role
The Training and Education Coordinator supports the success of Utilization Management (UM) Services through the development, coordination, and implementation of training and educational programs and quality assurance activities. This role assists with educational resources, conducts quality audits, monitors provider compliance trends, and coordinates training to improve operational performance and adherence to UM policies and procedures. It serves as a key resource for education and quality improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Training and Educational Development
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of provider training and educational programs related to Utilization Management processes, policies, systems, and contractual requirements.
- Create, update, and distribute provider manuals, user guides, job aids, standard operating procedures, and other educational materials.
- Conduct orientation and onboarding activities for new providers and provide ongoing training support for existing providers.
- Coordinate and facilitate provider training sessions, webinars, workshops, and educational meetings.
- Assist with identifying training needs through quality reviews, provider feedback, and performance monitoring.
- Support the Quality & Training Director in developing training curricula and educational strategies to improve provider compliance and performance.
- Quality Assurance and Auditing
- Conduct routine quality audits of authorization submissions, documentation, and provider adherence to established Utilization Management requirements.
- Review audit findings and assist in identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support the development and implementation of corrective action plans and targeted educational interventions based on audit results.
- Monitor provider compliance with submission standards and system utilization requirements.
- Maintain audit records, quality tracking tools, and performance reports.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through quality metrics and audit outcomes.
- Program Support and Collaboration
- Work closely with the Executive Director, Program Director, and Quality & Training Director to support organizational quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure consistent communication and application of Utilization Management processes.
- Coordinate provider satisfaction surveys and assist with analysis of feedback and improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to providers regarding authorization processes and use of the organization's technology platforms.
- Support stakeholder meetings, provider forums, and educational outreach efforts.
- Manage provider communication channels, including shared email inboxes and educational distribution lists.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure training materials and quality assurance activities align with contractual requirements, organizational policies, and regulatory standards.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, dashboards, and presentations related to provider education, audit findings, and quality initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation of training participation, audit results, and corrective action activities.
- Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies, including HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, Public Health, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare operations, utilization management, provider relations, training, quality assurance, or a related field.
- Experience developing, coordinating, or delivering training and educational materials.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and virtual meeting platforms.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Utilization Management, Managed Care, Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare operations.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and training development techniques.
- Experience reviewing documentation for compliance with established standards and contractual requirements.
- Knowledge of NCQA, URAC, CMS, or other healthcare regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with leadership, providers, and cross-functional teams.
For non-clinical roles, or when not required by contract, the company accepts a minimum of six (6) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. For candidates with an Associate's degree, a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant professional experience is accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Pay
The pay range for this position starts from USD $24.69 per hour. Placement within the range depends on years of applicable experience and skill level.
