Training & Development Coordinator/HR
About the role
The Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, and coordinating employee training and development programs for the Coastal Health District. They also provide multiple human resources services including employee relations, leave management, and compliance functions.
Responsibilities
- Identifies training needs and training gaps in the organization in close cooperation with the HR Manager and Department Supervisors
- Provides input and support to the District's Training Strategy and Development plan
- Optimizes the training portfolio as specialized targeted courses are offered to supervisors and employees
- Captures and schedules training courses and sessions including required annual refresher trainings
- Develops and coordinates new employee orientation
- Evaluates the quality of training courses and implements improvements
- Coordinates and oversees performance management, Safety plan, and ensures compliance with applicable policies
- Administers leave to include FMLA, Military leave, Workers Comp, ADA and other leave programs
- Affords assistance with employee relations
- Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive personnel information
- Maintains current knowledge of employment laws, Human Resources best practices and district policies
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of human resource experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level HR Generalist 1 (HRP010) or position equivalent
- Five or more years of experience in Training/Development and Human Resources preferred
- Experience using Workday, Kronos/UKG preferred
- Experience administering employee relations, FMLA/Military leave, ADA accommodations, Workers Comp and Performance Management preferred
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Four (4) years of human resource experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level HR Generalist 1 (HRP010) or position equivalent
- Five or more years of experience in Training/Development and Human Resources preferred
- Experience using Workday, Kronos/UKG preferred

- Strong organizational skills

- Knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday)
