About the Role
This position supports the training and standard evaluation functions in a squadron, managing data from multiple guidance sources to track aircrew training, readiness, and compliance. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to interpret and apply various Air Force Instructions (AFIs) and locally-developed guidance in a dynamic, medium-stress environment.
Responsibilities
- Update data in PEX (or future equivalent systems) and locally-developed database systems.
- Interface with Aviation Resource Management personnel to update Aviation Resource Management Systems (ARMS) or equivalent systems.
- Review and update student/permanent party records, folders, and grade books per AFI 11-202V1, AFI 11-2MDS-V1, MAJCOM installation supplements, and local guidance.
- Administer classes and exams, coordinating with scheduling to ensure crewmembers meet training requirements (e.g., Crew Resource Management, Instrument Refresher Course).
- Perform weekly individual gradebook checks for training and ancillary training requirements.
- Prepare and update periodic training/testing plans for approval and scheduling.
- Provide weekly updates to squadron/group leadership on flight and readiness status for duty tracking and performance reporting.
- Coordinate with scheduling to maximize training opportunities in alignment with AFIs and unit leadership guidance.
- Track upgrade and continuation training accomplishment, providing daily updates to the unit operations supervisor and weekly summaries to leadership.
- Assist in developing new curriculum and syllabi for aircrew and ground training.
- Generate reports/forms, including:
- Monthly Aircrew Qualification Level Summary ("Letter of Xs") for Wing Current Operations and Wing Stan Eval.
- Monthly and quarterly Ready Aircrew Program (RAP) reports and inputs for leadership.
- Monthly summary of aircrew probation/regression status.
- Maintain accountability and control of flight testing materials.
- Coordinate with the training officer to review and update records per AFI 11-202V2, AFI 11-2MDS-V2, and associated guidance.
- Notify crewmembers, scheduling, and leadership of upcoming/overdue testing, evaluations, and training requirements.
- Generate additional reports, including:
- Evaluation and Testing Status and Trend Data reports.
- Data for Wing Stan Eval’s Standardization Evaluation Board 6-month report.
- AF Form 8, Certification of Aircrew Qualification.
- Perform testing administrator duties for the unit.
- Conduct monthly reviews for aircrews entering their evaluation eligibility period.
- Interpret AFIs and provide guidance to standard evaluation personnel to track training and readiness status.
Requirements
- Must possess a Secret Clearance or have previously held a Secret Clearance (not revoked).
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with PEX or a similar proprietary scheduling program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a squadron, group, or wing training/standard evaluation shop or three (3) years of experience in a DoD flying squadron, group, or wing equivalent training/stan eval office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
