About the role

Eaton’s service team delivers solutions to some of our customers’ most challenging energy management requirements. As the Training & Product Service Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Product Service Engineers (PSE) and Service Product Trainers to execute the strategy of the Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Service Division. This role directly impacts the division’s ability to introduce products to the market and support the training needs of a growing, exciting business.

Eaton is a leading supplier of mission-critical power distribution, static switching, and power monitoring equipment that ensures reliability in the most demanding applications for data centers, industrial, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Product Service Engineers that provide design-for-serviceability input to the Critical Power Solutions Product Line from introduction to the market through end of service life using the PROLaunch (stage gate management) process.
  • Manage a team of Service Product Trainers that support in-house training of all Field Service Technicians as well as third-party resources.
  • Assist with strategic direction and leadership for the direct team while holding them accountable to all critical processes.
  • Analyze group performance and provide coaching and mentoring to develop individuals and the group.
  • Influence product design and changes to ensure adherence to Eaton’s safety requirements and ease of serviceability.
  • Work cross-functionally to maintain product service requirements and ensure training needs are consistently met.
  • Conduct comprehensive skills analysis to understand the knowledge needs of the service organization and implement through the design, development, and facilitation of instructor-led training sessions.
  • Foster a culture where ownership of health and safety is embraced by all employees.
  • Partner with the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team to ensure compliance with state/federal safety requirements and drive a “zero incidents” safety culture.
  • Partner with the technical documentation team to inform and develop field service procedures.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to both field service and technical support employees during initial product launches and installations.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with field resources to gather input, information, and lessons learned for future product designs and training enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years in a technical, product training, field service, or related role within the electrical or power management industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a manager of people or leading a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with UPS systems or related power management technology.
  • Experience working in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System (e.g., Enovia PLM).
  • Project Management experience or PMP certification.

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize work, with the ability to quickly shift priorities and projects in a rapid and efficient manner.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, grammatically correct prose to translate engineering and technical information to service-level customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management mindset.
  • Ability to interact with subject matter experts and project managers from Training, Engineering, Marketing, and other departments as necessary.
  • Ability to establish rapport and working relationships with a variety of personalities.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $190,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
