Full-time, exempt position reporting to the Training Manager at DePelchin Children’s Center in Houston, TX.

About the role

The Trainer assists the Training Manager in implementing DePelchin Children’s Center’s Outreach strategy for Foster Care and Residential Services. The role involves delivering presentations and public speaking—both internally and externally—to promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, Philosophy, and Values to staff and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor services for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements from Council on Accreditation, Youth For Tomorrow, Residential Child Care Licensing, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure appropriate interfacing among agency programs and community agencies.
  • Serve on the Recruitment and Training team; participate in recruitment and training activities as needed.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities within the service area.
  • Participate in creating or delivering training for parents, community partners, and staff.
  • Respond to community requests for presentations or outreach; coordinate scheduling and staffing for these events.
  • Create and maintain social media content for programmatic awareness and promotion.
  • Develop collateral materials to promote services and training.
  • Research, assess, and recommend training curriculum.
  • Coordinate foster parent and staff events to promote recruitment and retention.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies to provide required and desired training for staff and the community.
  • Promote the Mission, Vision, Philosophy, and Values of the organization to staff and the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or marketing.
  • Two years of relevant experience in community outreach/engagement, relationship building, and public speaking.

  • Average to advanced level of complexity, specific knowledge, experience, and creativity.
  • Highly organized, flexible, and able to meet time deadlines with accountability.
  • Knowledge of Social Work practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional, confidential work environment.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and workforce.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on client needs.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, with occasional nights or weekends.

Travel

Occasional local travel required. Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas Driver License, and current auto insurance.
