About the role
The Trainee Support Coordinator provides comprehensive case management services that support participants from admission through successful completion of the GreenForce program and post-program retention.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct participant interviews and assess eligibility for GreenForce programs.
- Aid in required reporting and participant documentation for grant compliance.
- Support community outreach and recruitment events as needed.
- Complete participant assessments to identify barriers to success.
- Develop individualized support plans for each participant.
- Connect participants with community resources including:
- Housing
- Transportation
- Childcare
- Food assistance
- Behavioral health services
- Legal services
- Financial assistance
- Education resources
- Maintain relationships with community-based organizations and referral partners.
- Provide ongoing support, encouragement, advocacy, and problem-solving.
- Maintain timely and accurate case notes.
- Maintain regular communication with participants throughout program participation.
- Conduct follow-up meetings to identify challenges and develop solutions.
- Address attendance concerns and barriers affecting program completion.
- Cook up referrals for emergencies or supportive services.
- Track participant engagement and retention outcomes.
- Document all participant interactions and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with GreenForce staff to ensure participants receive coordinated support.
- Develop relationships with local nonprofit organizations and community service providers.
- Represent GreenForce at community outreach events.
- Maintain an updated resource directory for participant referrals.
- Support GreenForce's mission through participant-centered service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, or related field preferred.
- Two years of experience in case management, human services, social services, nonprofit services, workforce development, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with underserved populations preferred.

- Experience conducting participant assessments and developing individualized service plans.
- Knowledge of community resources and referral systems.
- Excellent interviewing and motivational interviewing skills.
- Strong documentation and case management skills.
- Ability to establish rapport with participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
