Duties & Responsibilities
- Acts as the main point of contact from interest to enrollment for students within one's assigned territory.
- Maintains an in-depth and holistic understanding (through training and continuous research) of the University of Arizona’s rankings, academic program offerings, application requirements, policies, and key selling points for all undergraduate degree programs.
- Manages a personal and office email inbox; Responds in a timely manner to incoming student queries.
- Maintains an advising appointment calendar and meet regularly with students and families.
- Manages a phone line with texting and other communication methods; Responds in a timely manner to incoming student queries.
- Outreach, schedule and prepare virtual presentations for community colleges, universities, partners, parents and families, and staff based on the specific presentation needs.
- Utilizes one’s cultural competency and communication skills to expertly execute verbal and written communications in a clear, concise manner.
- Builds a comprehensive virtual and in-person recruitment plan that directly aligns with territory enrollment goals and has strong return on investment.
- Prepares an estimated travel budget, including flight, hotel, per diem, event and other anticipated costs for recruitment travel.
- Book all in-country travel needs, including flight, hotel, transportation, logistics, material shipment, etc. and maintain receipts for each booking.
- Strategically schedules all recruitment activities, plan for sufficient material needs and expertly execute.
Application Review
- Reviews and evaluates undergraduate applications, including transcripts, essays, recommendation letters, extracurriculars and exam scores.
- Utilizes training, sound personal judgment and experience to consider each student’s full academic history, in the context of where a student lived and learned, and other life experiences to make recommendations for admission to the University of Arizona.
- Affirms a student's overall character without bias and determine alignment with institutional values.
- Understands and interprets transcripts from all countries and educational systems.
- Analyzes application materials for authenticity.
- Scores completed student applications based a predetermined rubric.
Data Entry and Management
- This role involves a high level of communication via SMS text, email, phone correspondence with active engagement and timely follow up required.
- Utilizes the Slate CRM for student outreach at all stages of the admission funnel; Activities not limited to: Call, text, email prospective students as they express interest.
- Maintains a detailed record of student interactions.
- Utilizes the Slate CRM to manage all recruitment activities and complete follow-up reports within the system following each event/activity.
- Maintains up-to-date contact information for college counselors, university contacts and government staff.
Relationship Building
- Maintain professional affiliations including local, regional, and national affiliates as it correlates with the scope of your enrollment goals.
- Develop and grow partnerships with community college advisors and other community college campus partners.
- Establish a regional transfer recruitment presence and students' knowledge of the University of Arizona through visible, consistent relationship building in assigned territory.
