About the role

Ready to take the next step in your career with Driver Hire Sheffield & Rotherham? We’re looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual to develop into a Trainee Recruitment Consultant within our busy logistics recruitment team. This is a 360 recruitment role, offering the opportunity to gain a full understanding of our business, from sourcing and managing candidates to building client relationships, supporting sales activity and delivering excellent customer service. Working alongside our experienced team, you’ll develop the knowledge, confidence and commercial skills needed to become a successful Recruitment Consultant, with ongoing training, guidance and opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing, interviewing and registering candidates, completing licence and compliance checks, managing bookings and matching the right drivers to the right jobs.
  • Communicating with existing clients, understanding their staffing requirements and ensuring they receive a reliable, professional service.
  • Accompanying colleagues on sales visits to learn how we build relationships, identify new opportunities and grow the business.
  • Joining colleagues on client service visits to understand their needs, maintain strong relationships and ensure we continue to deliver an excellent service.
  • Managing job adverts, maintaining accurate records, supporting social media activity and assisting with the day-to-day running of the office.
  • On‑call responsibilities: being part of the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota, learning procedures, building confidence and gradually being introduced to on‑call duties once you have the knowledge and confidence to manage them effectively.

Requirements

  • Approachable, professional and confident communicator.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to take initiative.
  • Confident using IT, Microsoft Office and social media.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team while developing independence.
  • Proactive approach with an interest in building relationships with clients and candidates.
  • Previous recruitment experience is beneficial but not essential; the right attitude, commitment and willingness to develop are what matter most.

Benefits

  • Friendly, supportive colleagues who are on hand to help you succeed.
  • Ongoing training and development to help you build your skills and confidence.
  • Varied day‑to‑day responsibilities across recruitment, sales and customer service.
  • Career progression opportunities as you develop within the business.
  • Increasing responsibility and independence as your knowledge grows.
  • Support from experienced colleagues, with the opportunity to learn directly from different members of the team.
