About The Role Title: Trainee Project Archaeologist Salary: £26,341 per annum Hours of Work: 37 hours per week Location: York* Contract: Fixed Term York Archaeology delivers commercial archaeological services from offices at York, Sheffield and Nottingham. The organisation provides world-famous heritage attractions, including excavation, survey, consultancy, expert conservation services, research, and an unmatched commitment to dissemination, engagement, and public benefit. Posts of up to 6 months are available for Graduate Trainees at our York office, with good potential for extension following successful completion of the training programme. Trainees (under 6 months experience) will receive one on one training. Skills acquisition and development will be documented in regular meetings with a key contact and measured against key competencies outlined in our Career Development Manual and the skills passport. Applicants will be expected to work locally within the region and farther afield, the latter for extended periods of time and involving staying away from home Monday-Friday; accommodation, transport and subsistence funds will be provided.
