Trainee Clinical Associate in Psychology
Job Overview
Leicestershire Partnership Trust Learning Disability Psychology service is recruiting a full time Trainee Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) to join the Community Learning Disability Team working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
About the role
This development role offers a structured training pathway in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, combining academic study with supervised clinical practice, and progression to Band 6 on successful completion.
Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred psychological interventions to adults with learning disabilities and the systems that support them.
- Be involved in assessments, the development of formulations and psychological interventions.
- Involvement in multidisciplinary and multiagency working and contribution to service development and quality improvement.
- Receive supervision from a qualified clinical psychologist and be supported to develop confidence, autonomy and clinical skills in a friendly and welcoming team.
Requirements
Applications from Qualified Learning Disability CAPs are welcomed and if successful would start the role at Band 6. This is a trainee position offered on a permanent contract, subject to successful completion of the required training programme. Failure to complete the programme may result in termination of employment.
Qualifications
The role requires a relevant degree in psychology or a related field, along with the necessary qualifications to become a CAP.
