About the role

This newly created Trainee Accountant role, based in our office in Hale, Greater Manchester, will enable the successful candidate to achieve an AAT Level 4 qualification with the potential to progress further and study to become a Chartered Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journals, reconciliations, VAT returns, management accounts, and financial reports
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes
  • Liaise with colleagues, suppliers, and external stakeholders to resolve financial queries
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with day-to-day accounting activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 GCSE grades (9-6), including Maths and English Language at grades 8/9
  • Minimum of 2 A-levels at grade A/A*, one of which must be Maths
  • High level of numeracy and literacy
  • Excellent organisational skills and consistent, accurate, analytical working methods
  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Effective time management and ability to work independently and as part of a team
