About the role
The Trailer Technician role at CrossCountry Freight Solutions is a safety-sensitive position responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair issues on tractor-trailers.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers.
- Test equipment and systems for performance.
- Perform repairs to brakes, electrical systems, wheel end service, wall panels, etc.
- Document repairs.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with employees and vendors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Completion of a certificate program or technical training in mechanics and truck repair preferred.
- At least 1 year or more of professional experience as a trailer technician.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, organization, logistics, math, and communication skills.
- Ability to recognize trailer maintenance problems.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Experience and proficiency working with diagnostic computers.
- Knowledge of working on trailers.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work well with team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Welding or fabrication experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment.
