Trailer Technician

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is seeking a Trailer Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will enjoy troubleshooting mechanical issues and ensuring fleet vehicles run reliably.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• 2+ years’ of hands-on experience performing class 7 - 8 trailer maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Skills

• Hands-on experience with class 7 - 8 trailer maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $26.00 - $32.00/hr (based on experience)
• Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30am - 7:00pm
