Basic Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, replace and repair brake systems, ABS, electrical components, multi-axle alignments, hydraulic systems, welding/fabrication of steel and aluminum and related equipment.
Qualifications
- Two year AAS Degree in medium/heavy truck diesel program and/or a minimum three years of equivalent experience in related field.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and out of service parameters for tractors, trailers, and accessorial equipment.
- Working knowledge of trailer maintenance and diagnostic software.
- Must be able to operate all related shop equipment.
- Strong communications skills (written, verbal, listening).
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read installation manuals and understand manufacturer training.
- Working knowledge of proper procedures for hauling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
Working Conditions
- Exposed to all weather elements, including: extreme heat, wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.
- Frequently required to stand or walk for long periods.
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, climb, push/pull up to 50 lbs., and twist.
- Frequently required to move parts or supplies and can lift up to 100 lbs.
- Frequently required to use fingers, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
