Trailer Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking Trailer Mechanics at their Ellenwood, GA Service Center. Key responsibilities include diagnostic processes, repair work, and overall trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare safety documents as required by FMCSA, company policies, and regulations.
• Interpret technical manuals to repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
• Test equipment for proper performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer’s specifications and regulations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks (PMs) and perform repairs on Class 8 commercial vehicles.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and own personal tools.
• Be available to work in various climate conditions.

Requirements

• Experience in safety inspections and preparation of safety documents under FMCSA, company, and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and ensuring compliance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations.
• Experience conducting trailer PMs and repairs.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Own personal tools.
• Dependable and willing to work in various climate conditions.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Welding experience.
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles.
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair experience.

Pay and Schedule

Earn up to $34.67 per hour, full-time, Monday – Friday 2nd and 3rd shifts. Enjoy 1 week of vacation after 90 days of employment.
