Trailer Mechanic

Earn up to $33.58/hr. Full-Time, Monday – Friday 2nd and 3rd shifts.

About the role

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Yemassee, SC Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Interpret technical manuals
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
• Test equipment for proper performance to ensure the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Perform trailer PMs and repairs
• Lift 50lbs
• Work in various climate situations when needed

Requirements

• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable

Qualifications

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System (preferred)
• Welding experience (preferred)
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers (preferred)
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles (preferred)
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair (preferred)
