Mechanic

About the role

The Mechanic role at RWJBarnabas Health is essential for maintaining the safety and functionality of our facilities. This position ensures that all aspects of the environment of care are safe and operational.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled compliance inspections and complete repairs as needed throughout the facility.
• Conduct preventative maintenance activities to ensure building systems remain safe and operational.
• Respond to patient-related concerns and other maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Inspect the environment of care and identify potential safety hazards before they become issues.
• Support life safety initiatives, including fire boundary inspections and preventative maintenance of firefighting equipment.
• Utilize work request systems to document tasks, maintain records, and track completed work.
• Cook up coordination and oversight of outside contractors to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with organizational standards.
• Contribute to a safe, comfortable, and healing environment for patients, visitors, and team members.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma, GED, or technical school equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of experience in hospital or industrial maintenance or construction.
• A valid New Jersey Driver's License.

Pay

The Mechanic role pays an hourly rate ranging from $21.42 to $25.78.

Schedule

The Mechanic role is a Full-Time, Day Shift position with every other weekend/Holiday rotation required.
