Trailer Mechanic
Job Summary
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for inspecting and analyzing malfunctions, completing repairs, and efficiently rebuilding chassis & trailers.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Service and repair all types of equipment utilized on the terminal: possess welding and minor fabrication skills, troubleshoot and repair all systems but not limited to; brakes, electrical, hydraulic, air suspension, and drivetrain.
- Rebuild components of above system and possess qualifications of an Apprentice mechanic(B) with the ability to perform those duties without supervision.
- Perform a P.M. and service all types of equipment on terminal. Ability to work on non power equipment including but not limited to chassis, containers and trailers; change tires, troubleshoot and repair electrical system and air system; change and rebuild legs; complete brake job; replace suspension components and align axles; replace chassis ty-down components; minor welding. leg braces, T/L handles, leg mounts, x-member repair and replacement; main rail cracks; perform and certify DOT FMCSA inspections; check plug and unplug reefers; straighten steel container panels; patch aluminum roofs or panels.
- Own his own tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 YEARS* prior CCT mechanic experience.
- Valid Driver's License, and dependable transportation.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screening requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
