Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance service within acceptable standards for Dayton Freight Lines.
- Repair and rebuild components on 48ft. and 53ft. dry van trailers, including suspension and running gear, landing gear, wheel components, brake and air systems, electrical components, and interior and floor components.
- Thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Maintain welding and metal fabrication skills.
- Perform service calls, wash, and fuel equipment.
- Conduct road tests to ensure quality repair services.
- Interact positively and professionally with fellow employees.
- Assist, guide, and direct junior technicians.
- Care for the shop, grounds, and equipment, maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Record all work and labor on a computer in the EMS system.
- Work with the Parts Department to maintain necessary materials and supplies.
- Comply with EPA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
- Basic math skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Able to pass a drug screen.
- At least 18 years old.
