Traffic Signal Technician

About the role

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for full-time Traffic Signal & Lighting Technicians to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Working on MSHA surface mine locations (mostly gravel pits).
• Affixing, maintenance, repair, and service of traffic signals, electrical traffic control devices, and power systems.
• Designing, installation, maintenance of motor control systems.
• PLC control design, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Occasional long hours to complete work.
• Contributing to a positive team environment.
• Demonstrating dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
• Acting as a self-starter.
• Performing other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

• Traffic Signal experience preferred.
• High School graduate or Equivalent.
• Must have electrical knowledge.
• Must have a background in Construction, or Carpentry.
• General Labor/Construction Labor Experience Required.
• Valid Drivers License.

Qualifications

Skills

Must have experience with roadway projects including Traffic Signals, Street Lighting, and Underground Utilities. Enjoy troubleshooting, pulling wire, bending pipe and computing electrical formulas. Able to install control circuits and other components. Read, interpret, and understand electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am - 2:00pm.
