About the role

The Department of Environmental Services (DES) is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to perform skilled work for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including traffic signal construction, installation, repair, and maintenance. Technicians primarily support the electrical and electronic maintenance and repair of over 300 intersections, streetlights, and a multitude of ITS equipment and support devices at all times of day.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled work in the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic signals and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
• Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems at over 300 intersections.
• Service streetlights and a variety of ITS equipment and support devices.
• Respond to maintenance and repair needs at all times of day.
