Responsibilities

• Drive safer, smarter transportation as a Traffic Project Engineer at DOWL. Take a lead role in designing and analyzing traffic systems that keep communities moving safely and efficiently.
• Work on large, complex civil and transportation projects, performing tasks such as traffic counts, engineering calculations, traffic modeling and simulation, illumination design, and the design of both temporary and permanent traffic control devices.
• Collaborate with clients and agencies, prepare traffic analyses, technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and ensure quality through technical reviews and mentoring of junior staff all with a high level of independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Master's Degree preferred
• 6 years of experience required
• 5 years of experience with advanced degree

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Proficient in Market Sector Software (AGi, SIDRA, Synchro, AutoCAD, Microstation, Vissim, GuideSign, AutoTurn)
• Comprehensive understanding of technical fundamentals related to the market sector
• Experience leading technical efforts on a variety of project types, sizes, and complexities
• Ability to mentor others on technical tasks and skills
• Ability to produce technical reports and memos, traffic analyses, specifications, construction quantity calculations and cost estimates, design documents and construction plans, breakdown of costs and scope of work, schedules, proposal technical approach, and industry standards and regulations
• Understanding of budget and schedule, including developing budgets and schedules for complex tasks, breaking down complex projects into logical tasks, and prioritizing multiple assignments to deliver projects on time and on budget
• Ability to interpret, select, and employ design codes with advanced skill
• Understanding of limitations of design codes
• Ability to communicate with clients and lead client project meetings
• Ability to handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy

Pay

The exempt, salary range for this position is $104,197.59 to $156,296.64. In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the type, duties, or location of the position.

Schedule
