Traffic Project Engineer
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering fundamentals for technical support of project design teams.
- Create drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects.
- Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
- Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
- Research and apply code provisions to design.
- Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
- Prepare or review scopes of work and budgets, and schedule assignments.
- Prepare proposals to provide professional services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
- 5+ years of traffic design experience highly preferred.
- PE license is required; PTOE is a plus.
- Prior experience with MDOT preferred.
- Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD with a working knowledge of Synchro, VISSIM, Open Roads, HSM and HCS.
- Previous experience mentoring junior level staff is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for the purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
