Traffic Manager

About the role

This position manages projects, programs, finances, and work crews in the Traffic Group and Signals Group. It is non-union with a pay grade of 20 ranging from $87,977.00 to $98,179.00.

Responsibilities

• Provide management to: Traffic Group (Signs, Lines, Meters, Crossing Guards) and Signals Group (Traffic Signals, Warning Lights)
• Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate crew performance
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Department and Division goals
• Develop operations, maintenance, and capital programs and evaluation metrics
• Manage and prioritize work tasks
• Prepare a variety of daily, monthly, and year-end reports
• Manage material and equipment resources
• Monitor and document the day-to-day operations and long-term programs
• Manage vendor contracts
• Coordinate and staff the City’s Crossing Guard program
• Oversee the completion of work orders including billing functions and solve related problems as required
• Maintain database for yearly accurate measurement of installed assets
• Coordinate and staff the City’s Crossing Guard program
• Facilitate daily safety meetings
• Review updates to VOSHA and DOT Traffic Standards
• Identify and coordinate truck servicing with Fleet Manager
• Oversee the completion of work orders including billing functions and solve related problems as required
• Maintain database to ensure yearly accurate measurement of installed assets including but not limited to signs, lines and signal equipment
• Monitor daily job progression, manage fieldwork, solve problems related to field conflicts
• Coordinate and staff the City’s Crossing Guard program
• Oversee the completion of work orders including billing functions and solve related problems as required
