Essential Job Functions
- Performs collision and traffic calming analyses, signal warrants, sign requests, sight distance evaluations, and other traffic related analyses.
- Designs and provides project management for traffic signal, street lighting, and street sign projects and operations.
- Counsels and reviews private development plans and traffic impact studies.
- Provides oversight of consultants and contractors performing work for Capital Projects.
- Exercises functional supervision over assigned personnel.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent and three (3) to five (5) years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Special Qualifications: Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training in the State of Alabama. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
