Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Cookbook the coordination and supervision of traffic control operations in assigned work zones.
- Interpret and implement approved traffic control plans and project specifications.
- Oversee the placement, movement, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices, including signs, barricades, cones, drums, message boards, and arrow boards.
- Maintain work zones to ensure proper traffic flow and compliance with safety standards.
- Direct and coordinate flaggers and traffic control personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Provide guidance, training, and coaching regarding traffic control procedures, safety requirements, and work zone operations.
- Communicate daily assignments, expectations, and schedule changes to traffic control crews.
- Partner with project foremen, superintendents, and operations personnel to support project goals.
Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous traffic control, roadway construction, paving, or utility construction experience preferred. Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
