KEY FUNCTIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads and interprets schematics, blueprints, manuals, and other technical drawings.
- Repairs, replaces, or installs plumbing within the District.
- Inspects lift stations, as assigned.
- Operates tools, equipment, and machinery in accordance with prescribed safety procedures.
- Diagnostics and repairs lift stations, including necessary plumbing, electrical, electronic and/or pump repairs.
- Maintains District swimming pool equipment and water quality.
- Assists in the repair and maintenance of kitchen equipment and laundry equipment.
- Assists in the repair of irrigation systems to include drains.
- Affords assistance in maintaining and repairing drains throughout the district.
- Affords assistance in cataloging district plumbing equipment information.
- Works with outside contractors, as needed.
- Performs other ad-hoc repairs, as needed.
- Affords assistance to other personnel, as needed.
- Transports various items including, without limitation, tools, equipment, and supplies, to specified job location to carry out assigned tasks.
- Operates equipment including, without limitation, District vehicles, electric carts, electric power lifts, and use of ladders.
COMPLIANCE
- Performs all duties and tasks in a manner consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and practices within the Department and District, with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, as well as with all applicable guidelines, standards, and requirements as set forth by governing bodies including, without limitation, Texas Health & Human Services, Texas Education Code, State Board of Education, Texas Education Agency, and Texas Association of School Boards.
- Maintains relevant and up-to-date understanding, working knowledge, and proficiency of current best practices, as well as state and federal mandates for proper implementation and application of Response to Intervention, Targeted Instruction, and Multi-Tiered Instructional models.
- Fulfills all applicable Texas state mandated continuing professional education requirements applicable to the credentialing requirements of the job.
- Demonstrates applicable standards and practices of professional conduct and care in the performance of the job function.
- Maintains relevant and up-to-date job knowledge by participating in continuous education initiatives.
GENERAL
- Consistently demonstrates support towards the District's Shared Vision, Mission, and Promise.
- Affords assistance in the compilation of miscellaneous confidential reports.
- Attends departmental and District meetings, as required.
- Consistently displays integrity, responsibility, accountability, teamwork, and ethics.
- Performs assigned job duties and responsibilities in accordance with established performance expectations, as well as with District policies, procedures, protocols, and standard practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Active, In Good Standing, and Duly licensed Tradesman Plumber license by the Texas Board of Plumbing Examiners.
- Possess or ability to possess and maintain Texas-certified Pool Operator License.
- Valid and active Texas Driver's License.
