Responsibilities

• Complete small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects, ranging from two hours to two days in length.
• Communicate with customers to help them understand project needs, manage expectations about scope of work, and provide cost estimates.
• Deliver a great customer experience that creates life-long repeat customers by following the Mr. Handyman Way—a repeatable process designed to wow customers every time.

Performance Metrics

• Customer Satisfaction (NPS): Encourage customers to complete satisfaction surveys, aiming for high response and satisfaction rates.
• Revenue Target: Identify and pursue additional service opportunities with customers once on-site.
• Effective Billing Rate: Invoice appropriately, source materials, and collect payments from customers.
• Recall Percentage: Ensure work is completed correctly the first time, as all work is guaranteed for one year.

Requirements

• Live within the service area.
• 8+ years of paid handyman experience.
• Own your own tools.
• Be insurable for driving a company vehicle.
• Pass a background and driving record check.
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently.
• Able to safely work at heights and overhead for extended periods.
• Maintain a professional appearance and care for the company-provided vehicle.
• Strong proficiency in at least three of the following: carpentry, bathroom improvements, kitchen improvements, interior/exterior painting, drywall repair, general plumbing/electrical (where allowed by law), or floor installation/refurbishing.

Skills

• Self-management, as you will often work independently.
• Excellent customer service, including communication, review requests, and payment collection.
• Proficiency with technology and job documentation.
• Use of proper PPE and protective measures (e.g., booties) to safeguard customer homes.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28.00 to $35.00 per hour, dependent on experience with home repair, maintenance, and specialized skills such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and drywall.
