Trades Specialist IV

Job Responsibilities

Performs skilled tasks in a plumbing shop relating to a comprehensive planned and corrective maintenance program for University-wide plumbing systems including maintenance, installation, renovation, and new construction in over 185 buildings.

Requirements

• High school graduate and 6 years experience in the management or supervision of commercial maintenance and repair services relating to plumbing systems
• Journeyman certification in plumbing
• Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, maintenance requirements specific to trades background, safe work practices, and typical hazards within the work place
• Ability to work within established resources, communicate in writing and orally to management, maintain accurate records, operate computer systems, organize work materials
• Plan and prioritize work, develop and use strong customer service skills, maintain a harmonious relationship within team members and other departmental staff
• Work independently, demonstrate dedication to team work and customer service, utilize safe work practices, and promote safety in the work place
