Trades Specialist IV

About the Role

The Facility Maintenance Technician IV performs a variety of skilled maintenance and repair tasks to support the safe, functional, and professional appearance of Midlands Technical College facilities. This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.

Responsibilities

• Complete miscellaneous facility projects such as painting, drywall repair, carpentry, fixture installation, and relocation of furniture, equipment, and materials throughout campus locations.
• Utilize the College's computerized work order system to document, track, and complete assigned maintenance requests.
• Ensure work is performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established standards.
• Provide excellent service in support of the College's students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training or trade experience directly related to the area of employment.

Qualifications

• Experience performing complex maintenance and repair tasks in areas such as carpentry, masonry, electricity, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and boiler operation.
• Experience assisting with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and installation of fixtures.
• Familiarity with utilizing a work order system to log activities.
