About the role
The Wyoming Military Department is seeking a Skilled Trades Specialist to support the Wyoming Army National Guard at Camp Guernsey. This position contributes to the sustainment, restoration, and modernization of Camp Guernsey's cantonment area and surrounding land.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the maintenance, restoration, and modernization of Camp Guernsey's infrastructure, including roads, buildings, training ranges, water systems, and fire mitigation projects.
- Maintain and improve critical infrastructure such as electrical systems, heating, cooling, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Operate heavy to light equipment to grade roads, excavate, and maintain road networks.
- Install, repair, and maintain heating, gas, refrigeration, boiler, and air handling systems.
- Perform locksmith duties and assist in carpentry tasks, including framing, building cabinets, and painting.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain work trucks and inventory tools, equipment, and storage areas.
- Facilitate weed mitigation using chemicals and perform other general duties as assigned.
- Provide inspections on all buildings and grounds, including safety aspects.
- Attend meetings as needed for specialized coordination and situational awareness.
Requirements
- Preference will be given to applicants with trades experience (Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
- Absolutely required to obtain/maintain a Driver's License.
- Required to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding construction operations.
- Knowledge in skilled trades, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electronics.
- Ability to understand blueprints and schematics.
- Develop key systems, including diagnostics and repairs.
- CDL and heavy equipment knowledge.
- Knowledge of fire codes.
Qualifications
- Possess an Associate's Degree.
- Have 0-2 years of progressive work experience in Skilled Trades.
- Education & Experience Substitution: 2-4 years of progressive work experience in Skilled Trades.
Skills
- Proficient in electrical diagnosis, building codes, woodworking, metalworking, and masonry equipment.
- Knowledge of fire codes.
