The Role
- Advises clients on U.S. and international trademark matters, including prosecution, portfolio management, and brand enforcement
- Drafts, files, and prosecutes U.S. and international trademark applications, office action responses, and renewals
- Handles TTAB proceedings and supports trademark-related litigation
- Conducts trademark clearance searches, domain name registrations, and UDRP proceedings
- Collaborates with internal teams and foreign associates on cross-border matters
- Contributes to efficiency and process improvements within the IP group
Who You Are
- JD from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in Michigan (or DC) and the USPTO
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in trademark law
- Proven ability to generate and maintain client relationships, with a portable book of business of $300K+
- Strong legal writing, oral communication, and project management skills
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a collaborative environment
