About the role
The Outside Sales - Trade Representative at Emser Tile, LLC is responsible for driving sales volume through deep industry and community relationships and new business development opportunities. They are accountable for growing sales volume in strong partnership with the local market and Emser Tile Trade platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic sales plan to build market share with a focus on key Trade accounts, communicating these plans to the Regional Sales Manager, Branch Manager and Sr. Leadership.
- Identify and establish relationships with new and existing clientele through travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.
- Calls on key Trade relationships including General Contractors, Designers, Residential Architects, Custom Home Builders, Kitchen and Bath Designers and Design Build Firms.
- Leverage relationships within the Trade community to keep informed about their projects and to help create tile and stone specifications to Emser.
- Organize and implement Product Knowledge and CEU trainings with assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager, Emser Showroom team and peers to develop strategies relating to Trade partners.
- Work with Product Development & Marketing teams to consistently communicate business and design trends, consumer and trade attitudes, competitive practices, and product performance characteristics.
- Attend and participate in trade and industry events (IIDA, IDS, NKBA, ASID, etc.) to increase client knowledge of Emser, keep up-to-date on the marketplace and competitive activity, and to cultivate and maintain relationships with key accounts.
- Manage assigned budgets to approved guidelines to maintain existing business and increase sales.
- Investigate and implement innovative ways to market the Emser brand while networking to improve the presence and reputation in the market.
- Develop key initiatives to drive showroom traffic including events, product knowledge training and client appointments.
- Works independently yet cooperatively with the company and team's goals and directives.
- Builds and promotes strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with customers and understanding their needs.
- Emphasizes new product promotion during sales calls and onsite visits/meetings.
- Develops in-depth knowledge and expertise in regard to all Emser products.
- Emphasizes a deep understanding of sales, design and project management.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of inside/outside sales and/or business development experience with strong client service focus.
- Proven track record in sales, project management and design.
- Familiar with the local A&D community with strong connections within the industry and an established book of business.
- Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to time manage between multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Be driven to meet sales goals and enjoy the upside of Emser’s variable compensation rewards programs.
- Thrives in a competitive and dynamic sales environment.
- Be flexible, highly organized and have a successful history of servicing multiple accounts while consistently achieving and exceeding sales goals.
- Be able to work independently while simultaneously implementing company defined sales strategies.
- An expert in influential / collaborative sales and negotiation techniques, including analytical skills that can identify and exploit key opportunities.
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Instinctively address all customer questions and concerns promptly with business savvy solution / resolution strategies.
- Successful track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas and goals in an outsides sales environment (preferably within the flooring or luxury building materials industry).
- Strong persuasion skills and the ability to influence others.
- Solid analytical skills in identifying client needs and aligning them to product offerings.
- Demonstrated expertise in the principles of collaborative sales technique.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with all Emser clients, customers and influencers (internal and external).
- Ability to analyze market conditions and competition and develop strategic responses to opportunities.
- Listening skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm and endurance.
- Must be flexible to maximize business opportunities as they arise.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
- College B.A. / B.S. degree preferred.

Pay Range
Base $36,000-$75,000
All-In $75,000 - $160,000
