What You'll Do
- Manage HTS classification, customs valuation, and country of origin determinations across multiple product categories
- Ensure import and export activities comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and applicable international trade laws
- Support USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification, documentation, and certificate of origin management
- Cook with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate entry filings, duty payments, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate import and export records in accordance with CBP recordkeeping requirements
- Monitor changes in global trade regulations including Section 232, Section 301, AD/CVD orders, UFLPA, CAATSA, and other applicable trade requirements
- Evaluate regulatory changes and communicate business impacts and compliance recommendations to relevant stakeholders
- Aid in IEEPA refund filings, duty recovery initiatives, and other compliance programs designed to minimize risk and optimize costs
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain teams to ensure trade compliance is integrated into sourcing and supplier management decisions
- Work with suppliers to obtain country of origin certifications and required compliance documentation
- Process improvement and training
What We're Looking For
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience; Three or more years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, or import/export operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment; Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin determination, USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements, and import entry processes and customs documentation; Experience working with customs brokers and CBP requirements; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Preferred Qualifications: Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification; Experience with SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, or other Global Trade Management systems; Experience supporting AD/CVD proceedings, duty drawback, or other duty recovery programs; Familiarity with ACE Portal and CBP electronic filing processes
