What You Will Do In This Role
- Determine and assign accurate HTSUS classifications for imported products to ensure compliance with customs regulations and duty requirements.
- Support daily transactional activities, including customs entry filings (e.g., CBP Forms 3461 and 7501), generating ad-hoc reports, and keeping internal databases up to date.
- Aid the Trade Compliance Department with critical activities, such as Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) shipment admissions and inventory level checks.
- Review, audit, and approve Customs Admissions (e.g., CBP Forms 214 and 7501), and perform post-entry audits to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain accurate trade compliance records and internal databases in accordance with 19 CFR regulations.
- Act as a key contact for customs brokers, internal teams, and external partners while coordinating with government agencies (such as U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services) as required.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of Trade Compliance experience, including customs entry filings, HTSUS classification, and internal auditing.
- Working knowledge of FTZ, C-TPAT, and 19 CFR regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or successful completion of the Customs Broker License Examination (CBLE) with licensure pending.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Access and SAP is a plus.
