About the Role
Tractor Trailer Operators are responsible for transporting mail and other materials using tractor-trailer vehicles. This is a non-exempt, career position within the New England Logistics Division.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required. If holding an intrastate CDL, must self-certify with your state DMV that you operate or expect to operate in excepted interstate commerce (49 CFR part 383.71(b)(1)(ii)).
- At least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger vehicles, plus one year of full-time unsupervised experience (or equivalent) driving a 7-ton or larger truck, tractor-trailer, or a 16-passenger or larger bus. Driving experience must have occurred in the U.S., its possessions or territories, or on U.S. military installations worldwide.
- Safe driving record and disclosure of all commercial-vehicle driving employment for the past 10 years via a Driving Notification and Compliance Certificate.
- Must be drug-free, including passing a pre-employment drug screen and providing consent for the Postal Service to retrieve prior positive alcohol/drug test results or refusals from the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
- Must be able to communicate in and understand English, with or without reasonable accommodation under the Rehabilitation Act.
- Postal Service employment is conditional upon meeting medical suitability, general eligibility, suitability, and background check requirements.
Pay
Starting salary of $33.55 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
