About the role
This position is responsible for maintaining the building as a pleasing, professional business environment with minimal disruption to building tenants and visitors. The role involves physical tasks requiring little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.
Responsibilities
- Mow grass using walking-type or riding mowers
- Trim hedges and edges around walkways, flowerbeds, and wells using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools
- Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth using shears and other hand tools
- Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide
- Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs
- Water lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or activating sprinkler system
- Collect and dispose of leaves, paper, or other litter
- Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings
- Perform minor repairs, general hauling, sweeping, and other general work duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Subject to pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Valid Driver’s License
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a tractor operator, grounds worker, or laborer is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Capable of physically strenuous labor for long hours, often in extreme heat or cold
- Frequently push, pull, lift, bend, stoop, walk, and stand
- Constant exposure to outdoor environmental conditions, noise, varying weather, dust, dirt, pollen, and traffic
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Manual dexterity with repetitive arm and hand motions
Schedule
Seasonal Full-Time (40 hours per week); may lead to Regular Full-Time. Various shifts, which may include Saturdays and Sundays.
