Tractor Operator

About the role

The Tractor Operator reports directly to the Vineyard Manager and is responsible for helping to maintain the established 105-acre vineyard and installing future estate vineyards. This is a hands-on, full-time position requiring long and erratic hours, working in close accordance with the Vineyard Manager.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor to maintain current vines and establish new vines
• Ensure proper and safe use of all equipment
• Assist Farm Maintenance Technician as needed
• Maintain and repair equipment as required
• Operate the tractor to spray pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals for vine maintenance and growth

Requirements

• Proficient tractor operation experience
• Mechanical skills and equipment maintenance ability
• Ability to adapt to unforeseen constraints such as weather, labor, and equipment
• Flexible schedule, especially during critical seasonal periods
• Positive attitude and strong team cooperation
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 40 pounds
• Valid driver’s license and insurability by the company

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish is highly desired
