Track Safety Officer

Join the Security Department at Presque Isle Downs! You’ll help keep our stable area, track, and racing operations safe and secure—controlling access points, supporting jockey room security, patrolling the grounds, issuing permits and citations, and keeping the Winner’s Circle race-ready. Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and security of all Presque Isle Downs’ visitors, employees, and properties related to horse racing.
- Control access to the Stable Gate area, ensuring only authorized personnel and horses enter/exit.
- Provide physical security and a visible presence in the stable area.
- Enforce track rules and regulations; issue citations as necessary.
- Issue parking permits to authorized individuals and enforce parking regulations.
- Provide security for Jockey Room personnel and restrict access to authorized individuals only.
- Maintain organization in the Winner’s Circle and Paddock area.
- Limit access to the track via the Shoot Gate entrance and the South Track Gate entrance.
- Perform scheduled foot patrol rounds of the stable area.
- Prepare, file, and update appropriate paperwork and incident reports for all reportable events.
- Verify identification and issue wristbands to young-looking individuals attempting to enter the track viewing area.
- Maintain order among guests on the outside apron and assist with crowd control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Security experience helpful but not required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform job duties in a respectful and polite manner.
- Neat appearance.
- Ability to read and write reports.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to obtain appropriate licensing.
Qualifications
High school diploma preferred but not required.
