Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience in the sport
- Coaching experience
- A resume of working with student-athletes
- Commitment to developing young boys/girls both on and off the field
- Obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention
- Basic knowledge of character-building aspects of sports, physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached, coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management and the rules and strategies of the sport
Duties
- A five week schedule
- Conducting daily practice
- Managing equipment
- Travelling with the team to away games
- Developing positive relationships with parents and players
- Planning an end of season awards recognition
Benefits
The coach receives a district stipend at the end of the season.
