About the Role

This role provides direct clinical patient care, assuming responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The role includes supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and accountability to support the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. This position supports all facilities in the market as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
• Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
• Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement (QI), and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care.
• Coordinates and plans patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
• Performs and fulfills all Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and/or disasters.
• Knows the hospital’s emergency codes, including their purpose and appropriate actions, and adheres to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required). Bachelor's or master's degree (preferred).
• 2 years of current experience in their specialty (required).
• Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation, or policy in the state of practice.
• AHA BLS certification (required). AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications may be required by corporate policy for the unit of hire.
