About the Role
This role provides leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), overseeing nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital. You will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice across multiple units, assuming 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas. The position ensures high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and effective resource management.
Responsibilities
- Support the CNO in maintaining high standards of nursing care, safety, and staff competency.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.
- Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ensure operational excellence and appropriate resource management in patient care.
Requirements
- Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice.
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN (required).
- MSN or master’s in a healthcare-related field (preferred).
- 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
Pay
$15.12 - $21.60 hourly. Individual wages are determined based on qualifications and experience.
