TPA Supervisor - Appeals Bureau

Job Responsibilities

  • Training TPAs to function within their bureau’s requirements.
  • Oversee and track duties of the bureau’s professional staff assignments.
  • Maintain a reduced caseload.
  • Communicate with the Director and Deputy Director as to the productivity of professional staff regularly.
  • Develop and evaluate the professional staff within the bureau.
  • Perform administrative management tasks such as maintaining spreadsheets, schedules, coverage, etc.
  • Perform all bureau-related duties as needed or assigned, including drafting or typing of correspondence and confidential documents, updating computer-based tracking systems, record keeping, filing, and document preparation.
  • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

    Preferred Skills

    • A baccalaureate degree preferred or a high school diploma with four (4) years of work experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization.
    • Minimum 2 years as a Trial Preparation Assistant 2 or comparable paralegal experience.
    • A valid New York State driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
    • Discretion and integrity to work on highly confidential investigations.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

      Community Coordinator

      • Minimum Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
