Tower Foreman - Stacks and Tower Modification

About the role

As a Tower Stack/Mod crew foreman operating out of our Mooresville, IN office, you will oversee site management duties including tower and ground operations in compliance with OSHA safety guidelines. Daily responsibilities involve interacting with customers, vendors, subcontractors, completing necessary paperwork, and communicating work progress and issues to the construction manager. You will review and approve your crew's work, providing training, guidance, and leadership to maximize safety, productivity, and quality while minimizing costs.

This position primarily focuses on tower stacks and tower modification projects. Experience with gin pole operation for tower stacking is preferred. Additional skills in tower maintenance, inspections, antenna and line installation, and RF testing are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Climb towers and work at heights up to 500 feet, performing manual labor in outdoor environments
• Train technicians on all positions and provide developmental opportunities for career advancement
• Manage jobs within required timeframes and approved budgets
• Resolve issues in a dynamic work environment
• Complete and submit daily paperwork and closeout documents by deadlines
• Track and report material use, manage inventory, and document equipment maintenance
• Schedule and complete inspections while maintaining quality control standards
• Demonstrate practical rigging skills for gin pole operation, including Standard Chicago Rig for stacking self-support towers
• Operate double drum winch for stacking guyed and self-support towers
• Stack Monopole and stealth towers
• Perform all types of tower structural modifications following industry best practices
• Execute tower foundation modifications following industry best practices
• Represent the company when communicating with third-party vendors for CWI, PMI, special inspections, and A&E firms
• Understand and ensure EOR approval for engineered changes to modification designs before proceeding with construction
• Read and interpret construction drawings, SA, modification drawings, tower drawings, and RFDS
• Drive a truck and trailer competently, including backing up
• Complete JSAs, conduct tailgate meetings, and run a tiger team
• Perform rescues and understand safe/proper complex rigging procedures, working load limits, tower precon, and advanced cathead knowledge
• Apply rigging and mounting procedures for all antennas and equipment

Requirements

• Ability to travel extensively with frequent overtime, including some evening and weekend work
• Valid driver's license and ability to qualify as an approved company driver
• Advanced knowledge of OSHA safety and quality guidelines, relevant tools, and equipment
• Demonstrated understanding of crane signals
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Basic computer skills for completing and submitting paperwork
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both verbally and in writing
• Pass pre-employment processes, including background check, DOT inspection, and drug screen

Qualifications

Experience in the tower/telecommunications industry is desired, along with the following certifications (may be completed "in-house"):

• Competent Rigging and Climbing Certification
• OSHA 30 certification
• TTT1 certification
• Connector training
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Bloodborne Pathogens training
• DOT physical card
